KALAMAZOO, MI — Much like his business itself, Harris Wholesome Juice Bar founder Isaiah Harris was raised in Kalamazoo.
“My business and our products are all locally made,” Harris said. “I’m a hometown, homegrown kid. The business and everything we do is made, done in the area I was born and raised in. That makes it a little more special”
Harris founded the business about 1 1/2 years ago, with the goal to provide organic and healthy juices to the Kalamazoo area. Now, varieties of Harris Wholesome Juice are readily available at a handful of stores in the community, and one local restaurant.
The juices come in multiple flavors in one of two categories — wholesome juices and Arnold Palmers.
While the Arnold Palmer-style drinks still use natural sweeteners, the focus is primarily on taste. The juices, on the other hand, promise other benefits.
“The juices are really mainly made for specific body needs — anti-inflammatory, energy stimulator, detox, antioxidant, things like that,” Harris said.
When asked why should people buy Harris juices, the company’s founder pitched the benefits of the natural sweeteners he uses. It “gives you a natural boost,” Harris said.
“Everything I do is organic,” he said.
Harris organic juices can be found locally at Midtown Fresh Market, Park Street Market, Harding’s Friendly Market in Portage and Load A Spud Potato Bar.

When discussing the the business’ future, Harris said, “I just wanna continue to grow.”
“I am already seeing progress, huge progress,” he said. “I’m in multiple stores within two years. I definitely want a brick-and-mortar building one day; definitely want to go into distribution. I have high aspirations for my business.”
