While 2020 was deemed one of the wildest years we’ve experienced, it seems 2021 has been given the unofficial responsibility of healing us from the trauma and uncertainty of the past 10 months. Now more than ever, people are on a quest to heal their bodies and give their immune system a boost. And after gorging on holiday food, a modified diet is often at the top of the list when it comes to New Year’s resolutions. Here are six North Texas juice spots to visit to kick-start your quest for good health in 2021.
Taste of Gaia
Taste of Gaia is the new kid on the block, bringing a variation of juices, smoothies, protein shakes and healthy bites to Downtown Dallas. Staying on brand with the moniker’s Greek origin, Gaia is offering favorites like the Athena (carrot, lemon, ginger and cayenne), the Apollo (beets, strawberries, mixed berries and ginger), and the Aphrodite, a simple green juice with cucumber, kiwi, spinach and lemon.
211 N. Ervay Street, Suite #103, Dallas. instagram.com/tasteofgaia.
Manna Juice Bar
Manna Juice Bar is a Mansfield gem owned by husband and wife Dominick and Kristi Andrew. The duo, one a former athlete and the other a pharmacist, noticed the area was lacking a healthy option, so they took it upon themselves to create one. Manna is offering juices like the Good Morning Text (cucumber, kale, pineapple and orange) and the Manna Mule (pear, apple, ginger and lime), which helps with digestion and metabolism. They also offer smoothies, smoothie bowls, and healthy snacks.
3806 E. Broad Street, #128, Mansfield. drinkmannajuice.com.
The Juice Box Fresh
Inspiration can be found in the places you least expect it. For Anthony Whitehead, the motivation to start The Juice Box Fresh — his mobile juice business — came from a trip to Negril, Jamaica. Whitehead met a local juice stand owner who nudged him to create his own concept. Today, The Juice Box Fresh is dishing out 16 unique flavors, including Raspberry Mango, Banana Paradise and best-seller Tangy Pineapple, made with pineapple, ginger, coconut water, and Key limes. The Juice Box Fresh also offers fruit bowls and sea moss.
4466 S. Marsalis Ave., Dallas. (Saturdays & Sundays). Instagram.com/thejuice.boxfresh.
Tribal All Day Cafe
Tucked away in the Bishop Arts District, Tribal All Day Café has an eclectic array of offerings aimed to please, no matter what your dietary restrictions are. Along with their salads, bowls, and all day breakfast items like the Superfood Oatmeal, Tribal’s juices make for highly sought-after sips. With options like Medicine Man (orange, grapefruit, lemon, turmeric) and the Pony Ride (beet, pineapple, apple, tart cherry, carrot, lemon, ginger), you’re bound to find a favorite.
263 N. Bishop Ave. livetribal.com.
Juice Babe
With a location at the Dallas Farmers Market and another coming soon to Greenville Avenue, Juice Babe is becoming a Big D favorite when it comes to wellness. The family-owned business offers smoothies, toasts, and wraps along with their juices and wellness shots. Try the Flu Fighter (carrot, orange, lemon, ginger, Hawaiian turmeric, cayenne, and black pepper) and the Metabolic Booster (pineapple, cucumber, green apple, kale, spinach, ginger, parsley).
920 S. Harwood Street, Suite 112, Dallas. juicebabedallas.com.
Recipe Oak Cliff
Aside from a menu with plant-based meals like veggie burgers and jackfruit tacos, Recipe Oak Cliff also offers a slew of fresh juices. Recipe’s go-to green juice — The Stabilizer — includes kale, dandelion, parsley, lemon, and cucumber, while the Citrus Blast boasts grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime.
