All three Kansas City teams were again in action this weekend and two of them picked up points on the road in smash and grab style. Sporting Kansas City picked up a big 2-0 win on the road after holding on in a first half where they were out shot 7-1. In New Jersey, KC NWSL’s winless start to the season reached 13, but they stop their six game losing streak as an amazing goal by Mariana Larroquette saw KC pick up a point against Gotham FC. The one loss on the weekend came at home where Sporting KC II feel 4-2 to visiting Louisville City. Here are the stats and milestones from this weekend.
Sporting KC
Graham Zusi made his 300th league appearance for KC, he’s the 1st player to reach that mark for KC. He’s the 7th player in MLS history to play 300 games for one team.
At 34 years, 320 days, Zusi passed Brad Davis and became the 11th oldest player to start a game in both league play and in all competitions.
Roger Espinoza made his 282nd start in all competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Kerry Zavagnin for 3rd all time on that list.
Johnny Russell’s goal was his 26th in MLS competitions, breaking his tie with Daniel Salloi for 12th all time on that list.
It was Russell’s 28th goal in all competitions, breaking his tie with CJ Sapong for 14th all time on that list.
Russell’s goal was his 8th away from home in all competitions, tying him with Sasha Victorine, Francisco Gomez, Mark Chung, Gerso Fernandes, and Daniel Salloi for 19th all time on that list.
The game winning goal was Russell’s 6th in league play for KC, tying him with Mo Johnston, Miklos Molnar, Jose Burciaga, Eddie Johnson, Chris Brown, Jacob Peterson, and Krisztian Nemeth for 13th all time on that list.

Ilie Sanchez made his 142nd start in all competitions for KC, tying him with Jimmy Nielsen for 19th all time on that list.

Christian Duke made his 94th appearance in all competitions, tying him with Felipe Hernandez for the most all time in SKCII history.
Rojay Smith scored his 4th league goal, tying him with Wan Kuzain for 19th all time on that list.
It was Smith’s 4th in all competitions as well, tying him with Amer Didic for 20th all time on that list.
At 17 years, 321 days, Coby Jones became the 6th youngest player to score a goal in league play or in all competitions for SKCII.
Jones became the 4th player on an academy contract to score a goal for SKCII, joining Max Rugova, Isiah LeFlore, and Bailey Sparks.
In the 31st minute, Graham Smith passed Adrian Zendejas and moved into 5th place for league minutes played for SKCII. He finished the game with 4,289 minutes played.
Smith made his 49th league appearance for SKCII, tying him with Nansel Selbol for 7th all time on that list.
Smith made his 51st appearance in all competitions, breaking his tie with Mark Anthony Gonzalez for 12th all time on that list.
