Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks before the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.

The Rosary Altar Society at St. James Church, New Alexandria, will host a screening of the movie, “The Matter of Life,” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in the church social hall, 306 St. James Lane. The movie discusses the question, “When does life begin?” and may not be suitable for all audiences. A question-and-answer session will be afterward. Fundraisers
• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will have bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Jeannette. There will be 20 regular games and five quickies. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card board; $1 for quickies. Payout is 50/50. Free coffee.
• A holiday craft and vendor show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 22 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 306 St. John Drive, Latrobe. There will be ethnic food and a basket raffle. Proceeds will benefit the parish. Details: 724-875-0742.
• An indoor flea market will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Lincoln Heights Civic Association Hall, 44 Millersdale Road, Jeannette. There will be vendors, snacks and baked goods.
