Juice WRLD may be gone, but the late rapper still has more new music coming. Blink-182's Travis Barker revealed in an interview with MTV on July 17 that the band has a collaboration with the "Lucid Dreams" rapper on the way.
While discussing dream collabs alongside his protege jxdn (born Jaden Hossler), the drummer shared that he's "been spoiled," as far as working with artists he admires goes. "The one I always wanted that's impossible to have is Prince," Barker admitted.
Jxdn, who's signed to the producer's DTA Records, then chimed in to say that Juice WRLD was his dream collaboration, and that he would also like to work with Justin Bieber.
"There's a Blink-Juice collaboration that hasn't come out yet, but it's about to," Barker nonchalantly dropped after praising Bieber's drumming ability. "I think it'll come out on a Blink project as well as a Andrew Watt's solo project."
"It didn't make the last album," the Blink-182 drummer added of the collaboration with the late artist. "I'm just thankful that more Juice music is gonna be released."
The drummer-producer previously mentioned to Billboard ahead of the release of the band's September 2019 release of Nine, that he had been working on a song for Juice WRLD, and that it eventually became a Blink tune.
"There’s a song that we refer to as 'Paris' that’s really awesome," he shared at the time. "It was actually a beat I made for Juice WRLD and before I ever got in the studio with him, I played it randomly, and Mark [Hoppus] said, “Oh what are you working on?” They were like, “Whoa, we really like this.” And it morphed into a Blink song. It’s probably our favorite right now."
Barker, who is no stranger when it comes to working with rappers, also told MTV that the band also has a new tune called "Quarantine" coming "really, really soon." As for when a new album might actually arrive, he added, "We're wrapping up what I think will be an EP. It'll hopefully be out by end of summer."
Juice WRLD's posthumous album, Legends Never Die, was released on July 10. It included the single "Life's a Mess," which features Halsey.
The rapper died at age 21 in December 2019 after suffering a seizure at Chicago's Midway airport after a flight from Los Angeles. The medical examiner ruled his cause of death to be oxycodone and codeine toxicity, and noted that the death was accidental.
