Del Monte Foods has expanded its line of popping boba snacks with a new flavor -- Tropical Mixed Fruit Bubble Fruit, according to PR Newswire.
First of all, what exactly is popping boba? Popping boba has a thin, gel-like skin with juice inside that bursts with a pop of flavor when squeezed. The main ingredients consist of water, sugar, fruit juice and seaweed extract, among other items needed to shape liquid into squishy spheres. Popping boba has been known as a complementary food in bubble tea and on top of frozen yogurt.
A first-of-its-kind snacking experience, the popping boba snack line contains chunks of real fruit with a popping boba burst in every bite. In addition to this new flavor, the snacking line (launched last year) includes Peach Strawberry Lemonade, Pear Berry Pomegranate and Sour Apple Watermelon.
The Tropical Mixed Fruit Bubble Fruit is a kid-friendly, pre-portioned snack that provides a full serving of 100% real fruit.
Unlike the popping boba found in frozen yogurt or popular tea shops, bubble fruit does not contain any artificial colors or artificial sweeteners. The new flavor has 0 grams of fat and only 60 calories. It is available now nationwide at selected retailers, including Giant, Target, Wegmans, Walmart and Weis.
