DJ Drama has released another trailer for his upcoming album titled I’m Really Like That, and this time he’s recruited Jim Jones for the latest clip.
On Tuesday (March 28), the Grammy Award winner unleashed the latest trailer for his new album I’m Really Like That, and it has Drama and Capo recreating the record store scene from the 1991 film Juice. Jim Jones took on 2Pac’s role as Bishop, with the original actors who played Raheem and Steel, Khalil Kain and Jermaine Hopkins, also popping up in the trailer.
In the trailer, DJ Drama distracts the store employee, played by Chinese Kitty, while his crew steals some records. They make off with a nice stash while Kitty yells at them. The new clip also features a snippet of Drama’s next single “FMFU” featuring Roddy Ricch and two other surprise artists.
When the video starts, Queen Latifah — who’s name was Ruffhouse M.C. in the film, is arguing with a young DJ who was upset that she didn’t like his mixtape. After the argument was finished, Latifah allowed the “Gangsta Grillz” DJ to audition for her.
Once she let DJ Drama in, she popped his tape into the cassette player and his song “HO4ME” featuring A Boogie With Da Hoodie and Lil Baby started playing. Juelz Santana also made a cameo appearance in the video.
DJ Drama’s new album, I’m Really Like That, is slated to arrive on Friday (March 31). I’m Really Like That will serve as DJ Drama’s first solo album since 2016’s Quality Street Music 2, and the project appears to be a star-studded affair with an early tracklist boasting features from the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Baby, Gucci Mane, Offset, Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch, Jack Harlow, Freddie Gibbs and Doe Boy.
In addition to I’m Really Like That, the Generation Now co-founder has plenty more in store with new Gangsta Grillz tapes on the way from Pusha T, Fivio Foreign, and a collab effort with Dave East, Vado and Lloyd Banks.
Earlier this month, during an interview with the Rap Radar Podcast, Drama casually slipped in a gem that he’s working on a mixtape with the legendary De La Soul amid discussing his ability to remain a cross-generational talent.
“De La Soul’s coming to streaming. I can’t be more excited,” Dram began. “And we got a Gangsta Grillz coming! Little sidebar.” No other details were revealed.
