The world of One Piece is filled with quite a lot of incredible Devil Fruits. These mystical fruits are present all over the four blues, and are known to be more common in the Grand Line than any other place. Devil Fruits are simply a form of human evolution that someone wished for.
One Piece: Could Bonney Become A Straw Hat, Explained
The next Straw Hat could be someone other than Yamato or Carrot. It could be Jewelry Bonney.That is what makes them special and it is because of this unnatural evolution that the sea ends up hating their users and why they end up drowning. Over the years, Oda has introduced quite a lot of incredible Devil Fruits in the story and many of them are believed to be overpowered as well. In the ongoing egghead flashback, Oda has now revealed a Devil Fruit that could be classified as one of the most overpowered ones, if not the most overpowered one.
Bonney's Devil Fruit Ability – The Toshi Toshi no Mi
One Piece is now in the Final Saga and it is only a given that powerful Devil Fruits are now going to be present all over the story. That is precisely what Oda did with Bonney, who was recently revealed to be an incredibly overpowered Devil Fruit user. Although fans already knew that Bonney had an incredible ability to alter the ages of people, going back to Sabaody Archipelago, they did not know the true extent of this power. Bonney's Devil Fruit is called the Toshi Toshi no me and this was revealed to the fans quite recently in the story. This Devil Fruit is extremely overpowered, given that it allows her to manipulate the ages of those around her as well as herself. With a single touch of her hand, Bonney can transfer her ability and alter the ages of those she makes contact with.
She can also freely change her own state, becoming an adult woman, or even an elderly. Bonney can even turn herself into a baby if she so wishes. Of course, Bonney can transfer her ability to others with a touch of her hand, but that isn't all. She can also transfer her ability through other objects, such as rods or staffs. Sadly, Bonney cannot permanently affect the ages of other people. All the changes that other people go through are temporary and, after a while, they tend to return to their actual ages. Nonetheless, Bonney is quite powerful and fans have already seen this ability of hers causing quite a lot of havoc on Egghead Island.
How Bonney Ate Her Devil Fruit
When Bonney was introduced to fans in the Sabaody arc, she had already eaten her Devil Fruit. She was first seen using her powers when she attempted to stop Zoro from killing a Celestial Dragon. Later on, she gave a better showing when she fought against the Marines after Luffy punched a Celestial Dragon. When she showed her incredibly dangerous ability in this arc, fans already knew that this Devil Fruit was going to be extremely overpowered, given that age manipulation is a very dangerous power. As the story progressed, fans got glimpses of Bonney's abilities here and there, however, they did not know what she was truly capable of until the Egghead Island arc. Before the timeskip, Bonney received a bounty of 140 million berries, which is nothing short of staggering. Currently, she has a bounty of 320 million berries, which just goes to show how incredible a fighter she truly is.
One Piece: Zoro's Final Asura Form, Explained
Zoro's Asura ability has one final form in One Piece.This is a testament to the fact that Bonney has undergone severe training as she ended up eating this Devil Fruit at a very young age. In the ongoing Kuma flashback, fans found out that Bonney ate this Devil Fruit in the Sorbet Kingdom, when she was battling the life-threatening Sapphire Scale Disease. She was incredibly hungry one day and ended up coming across the Devil Fruit and consumed it. Bonney did not know that she had consumed a Devil Fruit and, it was only upon further inspection by those around her that she concluded that she had a power of a Devil Fruit ability.
Given that Bonney was struggling with the Sapphire Scale and could not go out in the sun or even at night due to the presence of the moon, she had plenty of time to train herself. She especially trained because she wanted to go out to the sea with her father after her 10th birthday. Bonney had already earmarked all the places in the world that she wanted to visit and for that reason, she wanted to become stronger. The seas are treacherous and sailing the many seas of the One Piece world isn't for everyone. Despite being very young, Bonney realized this and continuously trained herself, which, eventually, ended up making her a very powerful fighter. Little by little, she mastered all the abilities that her incredible Devil Fruit offered her and, eventually, she even managed to learn what could be considered the most overpowered ability of this Devil Fruit, called Distortion Future.
Bonney's Strongest Power – Distortion Future
Bonney has quite a lot of overpowered abilities up her sleeve. In fact, just her normal age-changing ability can be considered to be overpowered. Another ability that she possesses is Near Death Experience, which can, as the name explains, give near that experience to the user, effectively making them unable to continue fighting. However, it isn't this ability that is considered to be the strongest that she has. Bonney's strongest ability is called Distortion Future. This power is incredible and highlights the true potential of the Toshi Toshi no Mi. Essentially, this form sees Bonney gain the ability to tap into any of the timelines where she could have access to some other power.
For instance, Bonney isn't the biological child of Kuma. However, in another timeline, Bonney could potentially be Kuma’s very own child. This would mean Bonney could potentially have Buccaneer blood in another timeline and, using Distortion Future, Bonney can affect herself in a way that she takes form from an alternate timeline where she has Buccaneer blood, temporarily. This essentially means that Bonney can gain any power that exists because there is a timeline out there in which she can have access to that ability.
In One Piece chapter 1101, Bonney accessed this ability once again when she fought against Alpha. When Alpha charged at her in an attempt to stop her from leaving the Sorbet Kingdom, Bonney tried to picture what Nika must look like. By picturing this, Bonney gained the power of Nika and could access his rubbery body using Distortion Future. Essentially, it was just as if Bonney had the power of the Gomu Gomu no Mi itself, even though she did not consume this Devil Fruit at all. Bonney made her fist gigantic and punched down as if with a Gear Third attack, despite being a mere child. This was accomplished by Bonney before even hitting the age of 10 and that is simply scary to think of.
This ability is directly tied to Bonney's imagination. As long as she can imagine things that she can be in an alternate timeline, she will gain access to that ability. That is precisely why the Toshi Toshi no Mi is one of the most overpowered Devil Fruits to be introduced in One Piece. The entire potential of this Devil Fruit relies on the user. Depending on how creative the user is, this Devil Fruit can become the strongest.
