Petras recalled the day when Juice came into the studio to record his verse in a video posted shortly before his and LAROI's final cut dropped. "I had always, always in the back of my mind hoped it would see the light of day, because it's so good and I was such a big fan," the pop star said. "And obviously it's very tragic what happened to Juice, and I've always hoped there would be some kind of way that his verse can come out."

Juice WRLD (real name Jarad Anthony Higgins) died Dec. 8, 2019, from an accidental overdose at age 21.

LAROI told Billboard over the summer about how much his "big brother" Juice inspired him as a recording artist and how the releases of his posthumous collaborations ensures his legacy will live on.

"I think he was a great artist, and the music shouldn’t stop being released, because he definitely deserves to live forever and his legacy deserves to be great," he said while reflecting on their trip to Greece together for LAROI's 16th birthday last year. "I mean yeah, hearing it you forget that he’s not here with us anymore, and so in a way it kinda feels like normal."
