Fruit sold at Walmart, Sam’s Club, Publix, Albertsons, and other retailers in several states has caused one death due to a listeria outbreak, reports CBS News.

The fruit, produced by HMC Farms, was sold during a seven-month span between May 1 and Nov. 15 and includes peaches, plums, and nectarines. HMC Farms recalled the two-pound bags of fruit carrying the Signature Farms and HMC Farms brands and also individual whole fruit. Officials are concerned some consumers might have frozen the fruit.

The Food and Drug Administration discovered listeria in a sample of HMC Farms peaches in late October.

According to the CDC, 11 people across seven states have been hospitalized and the one death occurred in Florida.

Listeria is rare but has a high mortality rate. Newborns, pregnant women, those over 65 years old, and individuals with compromised immune systems are in the high-risk group.

The individual fruit and bags have the following USA-E-U code and a number: 4044 and 4038 for yellow peaches; 4401 for white peaches; 4036 and 4378 for yellow nectarines; 3035 for white nectarines; and 4042 for red plums; and 4040 for black plums.
